Ever since
the introduction of the Dominator antenna, station engineers have
been asking about stacking the antenna for more gain
and if we were going to make a circular polarized version. The new Phazor®
FM broadcast antenna addresses both of these issues with amazing results.
The newly designed Phazor® with twin collinear 3/4
wave main radiators and advanced phase shifting element that radiates an
additional signal in the horizontal plane.
The Phazor®
antenna uses a pair of 3/4 wavelength main vertical radiators that
are separated by a central 90 degree horizontal loop phase correction
element. The 3/4 wavelength radiators require a 90 degree shift in phase
between them before the next element can be effectively driven in the
correct phase to add to the signal. An interesting requirement for
circular polarization is that you need a vertical element and a horizontal
element driven in such a way that the RF energy is 90 degrees out of phase
with respect to each other.
This
provides a unique opportunity to allow the energy in the phase shifting
element to radiate in the horizontal plane by forming the phasing element
into an open horizontal loop. Thereby providing a level of circular
polarization, a very desired effect for FM Broadcasting. The Phazor®
actually produces an elliptical polarized signal, with more energy
in the vertical plane while providing compatibility with horizontal
reception antennas. This type of polarization combined with the high gain
achieved by collinear stacking is very effective at punching trough rough
terrain.
The Phazor®
is the next generation of FM Broadcast antennas built on the well known
line of Dominator antennas. It provides double the
gain and twice the Effective Radiated Power as the Dominator. With nearly 20 feet of
radiation surface the Phazor® is the monster of FM antennas with
the signal to match. It eliminates the need to stack multiple bays because the Phazor® is several effective antennas all in
one. These is no magic here. The concept of collinear stacking vertical
radiators has been in use for many years throughout the VHF spectrum but
never applied to FM broadcast, dual polarization, or antennas with wavelengths above 5/8 wave.
We
are very confident of this antennas ability to clearly outperform
all of the competition! The Phazor® antenna is known to outperform every single other FM broadcast antenna in existence,
regardless of cost. Try finding that claim on an antenna anywhere else.
